Strawberry Crusnik

Description

Have you seen an anime called TRINITY BLOOD? well, the main character, father Abel Nightroad is from a race that feeds on vampires, known as Crusnik. When I heard that "Crusnik", all that could come to my mind was that it sounded as some sort of german pastry, so I decided to create a dessert by that name. So here they are, the Crusnik. These are made with strawberries, but you can make them from anything you want (I'll try peach ones next time)

Ingredients:
(since I don't use measures, these are just aproximated measures, meaning that is up to your cooking skill to make it work.. don't follow this recipe's measures strictly!!, they are just ot give you an idea of ABOUT how much is).

Tools:

A cup cake mold, and wax paper.

Crust:

1½ butter bar
1½ cup of sugar
2 eggs (ok, this time I really used just two eggs and not "about two eggs")
1~2 tbs cinamon
1 Tbs of salt
1½ tbs of vanilla
1/8~¼ cup of fruit based wine (I used a wine I created a few years ago, with a tropical fruit called "marañón Curazaó", but you can use any you like.)
½ tbs of baking powder
about 2 ponds of flour

filling:

½ glass of water
¼ cup of strawberry marmelade
¼ cup of sugar (you can use less or more if you want)
4~5 tbs of cornstarch solved in about 1/8 cup of water
½ cup of diced strawberries

Procedure:

Beat the butter until creamy, then add little by little the sugar. when done, add the two eggs, beat a while more, then add everything else, and finally, start adding flour until the dough is no longer sticky. Puddle it then, until is well mixed. Be carefull, if you add too much flour, it will be hard as a rock (right grandma?), and if you add too little it will be to fragile and hard to work with. The perfect point is when it's no longer sticky, but a little soft. Put it on the refrigerator

Then, mix the water with the marmalade and the sugar and put it on fire in a small pot, stirring ocasionally. When boiling, add the cornstarch while stirring fast (otherwhise, it will end up terrile, believe me!! you may better ask for some help for this part). stir for about 7~10 minutes, and then turn off the fire. Put the oven to preheat.

Now, take the cup cake mold and put some wax paper on every cup, (of course with the shape of the cup!) and then, flat the dought and cut it in about 12 cms squares and not so thin or it will break. Then, place it on the cups, add about 2 spoons of the filling that you just did and close it as shown in the picture (Since I ran out of wax paper, I had to do them in a plain mold, that's why these looks so funny...). Now, place them in the oven (I dunno what temperature I used, I think it was the half of the total heat... maybe 250 Fº). Leave them there for about 20~25 minutes or until it's a little brown. Then, is done. Just be careful to not get burn.

see? even Abel Nightroad agrees that is delicious!
